Is your student interested in being an emcee at this year's Variety Show? The Variety Show Committee is looking for energetic, enthusiastic 5th graders to serve as the show's emcees!
For those interested in auditioning, auditions will be Thursday, March 1 starting at 2:30 in the multipurpose room. Please reserve your audition time online HERE.
PLEASE NOTE: You must sign up for the “5th Grade Emcee Auditions”, which are separate from the “Act Auditions”. Please be mindful of this when selecting your audition time.
please read the following requirements:
The emcee position is open to 5th grade Red Hill students ONLY.
Emcees will not be able to participate in other acts aside from the 5th grade finale. Please keep this in mind before auditioning.
Students should expect to rehearse up to 3 days a week after school for one hour from March 5th until the show on May 4th. The emcee roles are very demanding as the students are preparing to introduce more than 40 acts. We may not be able to work around family or extracurricular activities schedules. If you are unable to meet this rehearsal commitment, please do not sign up as an emcee.
Additionally, those emcees selected must also attend the variety show dress rehearsals on April 26 from 3:00-6:00 and May 2 from 2:00-5:00.
It is mandatory that each emcee has a parent (or another responsible adult) to monitor them at every dress rehearsal and the performance. This adult must remain backstage as a support for the emcee and will be responsible for helping their students with costumes and show cues. With so many students involved in our show, the Variety Show committee cannot monitor students.
If a 5th grader is not selected for an emcee position, they are encouraged and welcome to audition for another act within 2 weeks. Those not selected can arrange an audition time with Variety Show Chairs. Alternatively, students may choose to serve in a behind the scenes role. Additional information for the Variety Show can be found HERE.
Complete and sign the 5th Grade Emcee Contract HERE. Students will not be able to audition without a completed and signed contract.
For the audition: Students must prepare a 15-20 second skit, monologue, or introduction of an act . Use your imagination and show your personality!
